2024 Conference Program March 12-13, 2024

Day 1 will be fully in-person at Montclair State University. Day 2 will be fully virtual via our Online Platform. By attending either or both days, you will engage in exciting professional learning, sure to inspire your teaching and classroom practice.
 

Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Presentations (Day 1)

We are pleased to announce our 2024 Conference Day One Keynote Speaker, Ms. Jordyn Zimmerman. 

Keynote: Embracing An Inclusive Mindset Through Accessible Technology
Jordyn Zimmerman, Program Strategy Manager at The Nora Project, will share how today’s dynamic technology landscape is transforming access to reliable communication and inclusive education for students with disabilities. Jordyn will present her own lived experience as a nonspeaking autistic person, who at age 18 after years of frustration, was given access to communication via iPad and robust AAC. Jordyn’s message about accessing the power of technology, while challenging the status quo, will push you to think deeply about how you can affect change and challenge perceptions in your own learning community.

Join us for more than 60 presentations featuring educational professionals in K-12 schools and universities. This year we will have sessions for Library Media Specialists, Tech Coaches, STEM Teachers, Special Education Teachers, and IT Professionals as well as general sessions for all. All presentations are listed below. You are free to choose from any of the sessions when you register for Tuesday, March 12, 2024. The fee for Tuesday is $115 for NJECC members and $130 for non-members. There will be a late fee of $25.00 after March 4, 2024. Cancellations after March 4, 2024, will incur a fee of $50.00.

Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Workshops (Day 2)

Keynote: Educate, Elevate, Innovate: AI’s Impact on Education

This keynote seeks to inspire and equip you to actively engage with its potential. Join us in uncovering how AI can truly Educate, Elevate, and Innovate.

Samantha Morra, Middle School Technology Integrator and Computer Science Teacher at The Elisabeth Morrow School, is an educator with over 25 years of experience as a K-12 teacher, technology coordinator, graduate professor, and educational consultant. She has been recognized as a leader in educational innovation as a Certified Apple Learning Coach and Google Certified Innovator, as well as many other certifications. Samantha is a globally recognized educator for her work on digital storytelling and has presented at state, national, and international conferences. She has written magazine articles and contributed to several books, newspaper articles, and TV shows. She has also gained recognition for her expertise in STEM/STEAM, maker spaces, 3D printing, and leveraging technology to foster empathy. She believes that technology has the power to transform education which underscores her commitment to revolutionizing education for the better.

Join us for a day of virtual workshops and panel discussions. The fee for Day 2 is $95 (members) and $110 (non-members). There will be a late fee of $25.00 after March 4, 2024 Cancellations after March 4, 2024 will incur a fee of $50.00.

Registration will be open on December 4, 2023.

There is a discount for two days. The NJECC Member two-day price is $185.00.
The Non-member two-day price is $215.00.


Exhibition Area: 
Come visit our exhibition area on the main floor of University Hall to view displays and demonstrations from vendors featuring the latest in educational technology products and services.

TUESDAY IGNITE SESSION: Please visit our vendors in the exhibition area in the 1st-floor hallway of University Hall. Prize “dots” will be given out by the vendors. You can fill up your prize card with the dots for a chance to win some great prizes at this last session of the day. We will also have fast-paced presentations for you to enjoy!

Please note: Cancellations after March 4, 2024 will incur a $50.00 fee.
